A Letter from Dr. Rice: COVID-19

To our patients,

In light of national and state mandates and restrictions that are in effect to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) and American Dental Association (ADA) has implemented a mandated recommendation for dental offices while keeping in unison with Gov. Pritzker’s restrictions for the health and safety of the public.

These organizations have recommended that Illinois dental offices close for the two week period beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Tuesday, March 31.  To honor this mandate, we are postponing elective dental treatment and treating only dental emergencies.  If you have a scheduled appointment during the closure time, our staff will be contacting you to reschedule your appointment.

We want to assure you that we are available to treat any dental emergencies that may arise during this closure time.  If such a need occurs, you may contact us at 309-691-1990 and follow the prompts for dental emergencies to leave a message for the doctor on-call.  One of the doctors will contact you as soon as possible to schedule a time for evaluation and treatment.

We also want to assure you that along with following Universal Precautions, we are also taking extra measures for your protection and the protection of our staff.  These steps will include additional patient and staff screenings and the implementation of even more stringent safety and infection precautions to minimize any spread of the virus.

Because we care about you and our community, we are doing all that we can to honor the recommendations of the ISDS and Gov. Pritzker to “flatten the curve for our health care workers and first responders.”  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lori Rice DDS
